RULES & REGULATIONS

The competition is open only for adult  male competitors. 

 

Amateur  category : 0-4 years of experience in any grappling/submission sports or white/blue belt in brazilian jiu jitsu 

Pro category : 4+ years of experience  in any grappling/submission sports or purple/brown/black belt in brazilian jiu jitsu 

 

The amateur matches are 6 and the pro matches are 8 minutes long 

 

– you can win by submission, points, referee decision, or opponent disqualification

– tapping can be physical and verbal also, loud screaming from the fighter during the fight also counts as a verbal tap 

– if a fight is over without any points the referee will decide the winner according to dominance 

– the referee can stop the fight if a fighter seems unable to defend himself 

– a fighter if breaks the rules will be disqualified 

– No advantage scoring, if the athlete is passive,he will get a warning from the referee, after 2 warnings the opponent gets  +1 point,  the third warning means disqualification ! 

 

Legal techinques 

– any kind of arm bar, shoulder lock, wrist lock – in the amateur category  compression locks are not allowed, ( bicep/calf slicer)  

– any leg lock  and ankle lock – in the amateur category only straight ankle lock is allowed 

– any kind of choke and guillotine – not allowed to close the windpipe with your hands/palm

– guard pull is allowed , even without any grip on the opponent 

 

Illegal moves 

CAN NOT : 

– slam

– punch/kick/slap

– bite/scratch/pinch

– hold less than 4 fingers 

– put pressure on the groin area 

– put elbows/knees/hands on the face 

– grab/pull the opponent’s hair

– grab the ears, poke the eyes 

– do twister 

– no neck cranks that trap both shoulders and puts downward pressure on the neck 

 

Points 

Each position must be established for  at least 3 seconds and being out of any danger of submission to get the points 

Takedown – 2 points – if the athletes get back to their feet in 3 seconds  there are no points 

Guard pass – 3 points 

Mount – 4 points (reverse mount also) 

Back mount – 4 points – hooks and body triangle acceptable 

Sweep – 2 points – if a sweep ends in a pin position that counts as a sweep+ a guard pass , so its 2+3 points 

Knee on belly does NOT score any points !

 

If the Finals end draw , we decide the winner with ‘overtime game’ in the amateur and pro category also.  

 

Athletes start from back mount or classic arm bar position, they have to escape or finish the submission. If one of them submits the opponent and then escapes when he is in the escape situation, he won. If both of them escapes , the faster escape wins, and if both of them submits, the faster submission wins.

The referee flips a coin and the athlete who guesses the coin’s side right can decide to start or choose position to escape from. 

 

Clothing

NOGI : clean, not torn short or long sleeve rashguard, 

can not wear:basic T-shirt, tank top, or wrestling dress, can not fight shirtless

clean, not torn, fitted spat , or just fight short

if the rashguard or short gets damaged then it must get changed

Athletes compete barefoot, no shoes or socks  allowed 

Can not grab or use your’s or your opponent’s clothes 

If u wish you can use mouthguard, but everything else is forbidden.

No slippery substances are allowed

 

Hygiene

Long hair has to be tied up, and nails must be cutted on hands and feet also. 

Wounds must get covered, bloody and dirty clothes can not be on the mat.

Must wear slippers before stepping on the mat.

 

Weigh-Ins

Every athlete must weigh in before the competition in the presence of a staff member,if the athlete does not fit in his weight category he will be disqualified with no refund

 

Referees

Our referees are highly educated and skilled athletes always aiming for a fair and clean fight .

They are scoring according to our rule set, their decisions are final. 

All the referees, staff members and organizers will wear marked clothing to spot them if any help is needed.
